Writer's Circles & Miscellaneous Artists

So.

The blog as had a bit of a sprucing up and a lot of the content hidden. Previously I had simply used it as a convenient medium to put up drafts of my WiP "Of Bloody Reflections" and other writings for the purpose of my writer's circle. Named, most ingeniously, The Circle.

However. The book is written. Done. (Well, mostly.)

Monthly postings and feedback, both giving and receiving are not quite what I need now, or have time for. Which makes me sad really, although I will still lurk. It's strange, the circle was a steady part of my life for about two years. I found it immensely helpful, and bloody good fun too. If you are a budding writer, or even a writer with plenty of experience then I most definitely recommend either seeking one out or creating your own. (Actually mine needs some new ink blood...). Feedback should never be underestimated, and having that regular praise/criticism puts your skills as a writer through the fire. Hones your style, your voice, hammers out your foibles.

You also get to meet some amazing people. Get to see how they twine the creative ether into endeavour, into art.

I have certainly had the fortune to meet some talented folk, who have reached into and wrought varying mediums.

Leanne Moden, a graceful and good friend, quirky and quick witted is her tongue. Moden is a master of the spoken word...which as recently been recognised in her title of Fenland Poet Laureate. Congratulations! I think it best if you let the lady herself tell you all about it, and indulge in some words whilst you're there.

And here's a video of one of her more notorious poems. A woman who knows her mind and takes pride in her muff. (@CrimsonEbolg)

Then there are sirs Simothy Quayle and John Clay. The latter caters to an audiance who appreciates a head fuck mixed with anti-superhero hijinks. The former a truly intriguing writer who dabbles in SFesque cross-genre reinventions. Together, along with a couple of other alt.miscreants, they have created Headspace. "The channel where we throw a collection of geekery and token 'normal' talk at the interwebs and see what's cool...
